Hacked account

Hi,

I played in the ARES server for many years (since 2007 I think). I worked really hard to get an ok character so I could enjoy doing PKing. I had to stop playing for family reasons about 2 years ago. However, I kept logging in and out about every 4 months to ensure all my gear and my characters where still there.

Well, today I logged in again and to my surprise all my "decent" items where gone. They clean my account and took everything they could except the locked items.

I already put a ticket but I was wondering if anyone has ever had any luck with the GM's helping to restore your items. I have not been active so, who ever logged in with my account before today was responsible for the hack. I will supposed that's an easy why to find who did it.

Is there a GM that can help? My in game character is MACHOMEX and I played with the old good friends of Brendas Saints clan.

You will get help if only you have OTP active in your account.

Well first of all you have to sent ticket at Customer Support, also did you have OTP?

I already sent a ticket to customer support. About the OTP, I guess I am out of luck. As I mentioned, I have not played in the last couple years other than a quick logging in and out to keep the account sort of "active". I was not aware that NTT has its database compromised during 2014 and that the OTP was established to help prevent hacking issues. Also, I was not aware of the grace period to restored hacked accounts.

I am an old player and it is too bad that the security of NTT was compromised and I wasn't active enough to learn about that. Any help at this point will be appreciated.

so, no help? not even an automated response from the customer service to say "sorry nothing we can do. It's your fault for trusting us"

Hello.

If you didn't have OTP activated, it doesn't matter what will customer support tell you or you tell them.. there's not much they can do.
Currently, none can get restored unless they have OTP. I personally never heard about someone getting restored with OTP as well, guess why? because so far, none got hacked while having OTP activated on your account.

I am sorry for your loss, but I don't think there is anything you can do about it right now, perhaps.. if you are lucky, NTTGame can suddenly make a decision to restore again all the players that got hacked without having OTP activated on their accounts, that's an option, but I don't see it happening really.

Unless your account got hacked few months ago, there is probably no chance for your items to be restored.


From your current position, you are probably frustrated but if you had OTP activated you could simply avoid this.. just make sure you activate OTP asap so "history" won't repeat itself.
