Paper armours

I'm aware it was a while ago now but was there a particular reason why the paper armours changed design to leather strapping?

I personally liked the old robe design for paper characters and to be honest, it makes more sense for priests/mages. The inventory icons all show the old armour anyway so for consistency if nothing else.

If there was interest, would/could the devs bring robed paper priests/mages back to the game?
